Another pointless remake has been announced, this time with near-classic satirical horror American Psycho set for a cut and paste job...This week's depressing remake news comes from the year 2000, with Christian Bale's American Psycho getting a rehash. This
comes just after the news that Starship Troopers would be made over again, making many a film fan openly weep (and we're not afraid to admit it).
Lionsgate want to make a micro-budget version of the satirical horror story. The original film wasn't a huge success on release, so we can only assume the studio would like to cash in on the subsequent popularity it's garnered.
Noble Jones, who worked on David Fincher's The Social Network, will be writing and directing the new version, with the action set in modern day New York. We're curious as to who will dare take on the role of Patrick Bateman, but in light of our earlier predictions for Zac Efron, he's our choice (there have been worse ideas).
